Introduction

The Five County Stadium is a famous baseball stadium located in Zebulon in North Carolina which is a suburb of Raleigh. The stadium has the capacity of holding up to 6,500 people. It is the home field for the Carolina Mudcats. The team is the Low-A East affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers (who play in American Family Field). The stadium opened in 1991 and was renovated in 1999. The name of the Five County Stadium comes from its location. It is located in Wake County. It is close to the intersection of the county lines between the Franklin, Nash, Wake, and the Johnson Counties. The Wilson County is also located in the area of the stadium. The ballpark was the place where Michael Jordan scored his first home run.

The stadium is a little bit different from the other ballparks in the United States that have been built in the past twenty years. It has a look of a traditional and old ballpark. Although there is nothing to visit within the walking distance of the stadium, there are a few places to grab a bite just ten miles away from it. The McLean’s Ole Time’s Café is a family-owned place that offers a lot of Southern and American dishes. Hillbillies is another place where you can get hot dogs, fries, hamburgers, and ice cream. There are also some hotels and lodging options near the stadium.

You might not get public transit to the stadium. The nearest airport to the stadium is forty miles away to the west. Traffic is not a lot near to the stadium. There is a huge parking lot just outside the stadium which will just take a short walk to reach. Parking costs just $5. The main way to enter the gate of the stadium is through behind the home plate. It is easy to enter the stadium through a wide concourse. It is not possible to see the field from various parts of the concourse. One thing that takes the point is the seating for the handicapped. The restrooms of the stadium are neat and clean. You can buy the tickets either from the gate or online. The General Admission tickets cost $7. There are also some offers for people in groups. A group with 20 or more people can get the box tickets at $7 per person, $4 for parking and also a few discounts on merchandise.

Features

The Five County Stadium is an amazing place to watch a game of baseball. The sightlines are pretty amazing here and the staff is very friendly and attentive. There are a total of 6,500 seats that surround the entire field, from behind the home plate to the first and third base areas. The premium seats of the stadium including the suites are located at the field level. The rest of the seats are a little away from the playing field but still have great sightlines. The left and right field seating are farther from the field but are very comfortable and have cup holders too. No bad seating is there in the stadium. No matter where you sit, you will still enjoy the game. If you want to eat and watch the game, it would be better to sit in the right-field picnic area as you can get a flat surface to keep your stuff, food items, and beverages. Left of the center field, you will see a large video board. Music is also played in the stadium which makes the atmosphere energetic and enjoyable.

The team also has a mascot that is featured very often. The name of the mascot is Muddy the Mudcat. There are also a lot of between-innings contests, races, and also video promotions throughout the game. There is also a karaoke where the fans sing when the music would stop. The PA of the ballpark is also very good. He keeps the fans engaged and entertained without even putting in a lot of effort. The only problem at the stadium is that there is no overhead protection in case of rainy, cold, or hot weather. You can go to the concourse in case of rains or high temperatures.

There is something for every person when it comes to food and beverages in the Five County Stadium. You will never have to wait in long lines for your food to get ready. The staff of the stadium is very friendly. You will be seeing stands all along the courses selling different food items. Some stands are Sinker, Hook Line, Cane Pole Cantina, Whiskers Café, and many others. All of these stands are under the Umbrella Baitshop. Food options range from popcorns, nachos, Bright Leaf hot dogs, peanuts, pizzas, hamburgers, etc. Other non-traditional ballpark food items include the cheesesteak gyros, turkey club gyros, and even a lot of other amazing items. For people with a sweet tooth, there is cotton candy, Kona Ice, frozen lemonade are some items that you can get after lunch or as a dinner treat. There is a restaurant right above the seating area in the stadium that can be booked for special occasions and has seating available for groups and events. Throughout the stadium, you will find beer stands that offer both national and local brands.

Conclusion

The Five County Stadium is surely a comfortable and cozy place to watch a baseball match. It is very inexpensive and offers great quality and variety of food items too. If you want to go to a place that also has a lot of other attractions and places to visit nearby, the Five County Stadium would be a perfect choice.
